Plovdiv... European Culture Capital 2019

Heyyy there :)

I wanted to continue showing you the beauty of Bulgaria this time going to a city in Bulgaria called Plovdiv.

Plovdiv is roughly two hours by car away from Sofia and 2.5hrs away from Bansko. This is considered to be the second largest city in Bulgaria. There was researches done that in Plovdiv there was habitation dating back to the 6th millennium  before the common era, hence it is known to be one of the oldest cities within Europe. This city boosts its charm with different colourful houses, some of which are creaky old, dating back to the 19th century and some have been nicely renovated keeping their charm.  Some of these old houses have now been renovated to form museums and galleries. You can also find some really nice romantic guesthouses.  Plovdiv boasts   with a lot of roman history especially in the old town of  Plovdiv. There is a roman stadium, a mosque and several churches in the center of Plovdiv

One of the nicest things around Plovdiv has got to be the Roman Amphitheatre, one of the most well-preserved Roman ruins. This old theatre overlooks the historical city of Plovdiv. To this day concerts are still performed in this theatre, especially during the nice cool summer evenings.
